Random tools for games and play

Roll dice, choose an option, make teams, or shuffle a player list with tools that keep the rule visible. Random 42 is designed for casual and tabletop play, not gambling, wagering, or independently verified outcomes.

Tools for this scenario

Every link below opens a working tool. Ideas still being designed stay out of navigation until their workflow is ready.

Settle a quick question with the Yes or No Wheel.

Draw a prompt letter with the Random Letter Generator.

Assign the next household task with the Chore Wheel.

What you can solve here

JOB 01

Roll a game event

Roll one to six standard six-sided dice, then check every face and the total at a glance.

JOB 02

Set teams or player order

Assign every player once, handle an uneven count openly, and copy the sides or sequence before play starts.

JOB 03

Choose the next option

Pick a challenge, map, role, starter, or other valid game option with or without a visible wheel.

Choose the random event the rules actually call for

Use dice when the game specifies a distribution, a turn-order tool for a complete sequence, a picker for one outcome, and a team generator when every player must be assigned. A wheel is presentation; it should reveal a result rather than secretly define a different probability.

Custom weights, rerolls, removal after selection, and repeat rules all change the outcome space. Set them before play and keep them visible so the table knows what is being randomized.

Three working principles

  1. Keep the distribution visible

Weights, dice sides, repeats, and removal rules belong in the setup, not in a hidden result animation.

  2. Resolve uneven counts before play

Decide whether a smaller team, bye, or rotating substitute is acceptable before generating sides or pairs.

  3. Treat the tools as play aids

These tools do not provide gambling compliance, financial settlement, signed logs, or third-party verification.
